SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

destination detail

Samburu National Reserve lies in the north of Kenya where the flat greenness of the rest of the country starts giving way to arid scrubland and immense rocky outcrops all centered on the meandering Ewaso Ngiro River. It is a very rewarding safari destination that offers unique experiences and excellent game viewing. The park is a unique wildlife conservation haven famous for an abundance of rare species of animals such as Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, and the Beisa Oryx.

Best time to visit

It is considered that the long dry season from July to October is the best time to visit Samburu National Reserve. Water sources are limited due to the absence of rainfall, so the animals congregate along the Ewaso Ngiro River to drink and feed.
